Pursuant to Article 13 and 14 of Legislative Decree (EU) 2016/679, PeakLens protects and respects your privacy. Accordingly, we have developed this Policy for you to understand how we collect, communicate, and use personal information. The following rules define our privacy policy.

We are committed to disclose to users information about our policies and practices relating to the management of collected information. We will collect information by lawful and fair means and, where appropriate, with the knowledge or consent of the person concerned.

1. DATA CONTROLLER, DATA PROCESSOR AND PERSONS IN CHARGE OF THE PROCESSING

2. TYPES OF DATA PROCESSED AND PURPOSES OF THE PROCESSING

Android Mobile App
PeakLens Android application does not collect any personal information.
We may collect, in an anonymized way, information for application improvement and system administration only. This information does not identify any individual. Collected data may include user's location, devices/computer, operating system, device model and user’s actions within the application.
All data collected by the camera are processed only on your device and not transferred and stored in our servers.
PeakLens app uses Firebase tools provided by Firebase, a Google company. We use Firebase information to administer, develop and improve our services and applications. By default, only the ‘Firebase Crash Reporting’ and the ‘Google Analytics for Firebase’ functions are activated, to be informed about any problem occurring in the PeakLens App. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Firebase about your use of the App is governed by the Google Privacy Policy (available here).

Website and Cookies
When the browsing of the website, the computer system and the software involved in the operation of the website acquire in their normal use some Data, whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols. This Data is not immediately associated with identified Users but it may allow the identification of Users of the website (e.g. IP address used to visit the website) through associations with data held by third parties.

Data is processed for the time necessary to obtain statistical information about the use of the website and to check the correct use of such website. Afterwards Data is usually removed from the network and stored offline exclusively to ascertain possible liability in the case of computer crimes and it may be consulted only upon request by the judicial authority.

Communication and Support
If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence for the purpose of improving the app. Your email address will be used exclusively for the purpose of assistance.

4. MODALITIES OF THE PROCESSING AND STORAGE

We will protect collected information by reasonable security safeguards against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification. We will not disclose to third parties user data gathered using the app.


5. RIGHTS OF THE PEOPLE INVOLVED IN DATA TREATMENT

The PeakLens application operates anonymously and collects user’s data for the sole purpose of assistance; the interested parties may exercise the rights, to be requested from the data controller, through the address privacy@polimi.it, of accessing the Data concerning them, of correcting or cancelling them, or of limiting or opposing to their processing.


6. DURATION OF DATA TREATMENT

Data will be processed only for the time strictly necessary for the user’s assistance and subsequently destroyed.


7. CHANGES TO PRIVACY POLICY

If PeakLens decides to change its privacy policy, it will post those changes on this page. This policy was last modified on May 16th, 2018.
